Recruitment
to the post of Scientist ‘C’ in the Department of Ocean Development
The
Department of Ocean Development, Government of India proposes to make
recruitment to one post of Scientist “C” through any of the two modes or
recruitment, e.g., Deputation/absortion
or Direct Recruitment. The
candidates belonging to the Central Government/State Governments/ Union Territory
Administrations/ Universities/ Recognised Research Institutions/Public
Undertakings/Semi Government/Statutory or Autonomous organizations, who meet
the eligibility criteria shall be considered for either for appointment on
deputation/absorption or Direct Recruitment basis as per their mode of
application. The other eligible
applicants who are working in any of the above specified Departments/Offices
could also be considered for appointment on Direct Recruitment basis.

Duties attached to the Post:
(i)
Critical appraisal of projects and
work in the area of electrical and electronic system.
(ii)
Collection, collation and updation of
data base.
(iii)
Any other work assigned.
3.
Eligibility Criteria:
Deputation/absorption
The
candidates belonging to the Central Government/State Governments/ Union
Territory Administrations/ Universities/Recognised Research Institutions/Public
Undertakings/Semi Government/Statutory or Autonomous organizations,
(a) (i) holding analogous post on a regular
basis; or
(ii)
with 3 years regular service in posts
in the pay scale of Rs.8,000-275-13500/ or equivalent; and
(b) possessing the
educational and experience prescribed for the post as indicated against Item 4 below.
4. Educational
Qualifications and experience applicable to all applying for
Deputation/absorption or Direct
Recruitment:
Essential:
(i)
First class Bachelor’s degree in
electrical/ electronics engineering or technology from a recognized University
or equivalent.
(ii)
Three years experience in design and
development of electrical or instrumentation system. Knowledge of design procedure and stands in the field of electrical/ electronics/instrumentation
engineering.
Desirable:
(i)
Master’s degree in electrical/
electronics engineering or technology from a recognized University or
equivalent.
(ii)
In case possessing Master Degree,
minimum of one year experience in
design, development test of electrical/
electronics/instrumentation system will be preferable.
5.
Age limit (as on closing date):
(i)
For appointment on
deputation/absorption shall not exceed 56 years; and
(ii)
For appointment on direct recruit
preferably below 40 years (relaxable upto 5 years in respect of Government
servants in accordance with the orders issued by the Government from time to
time).
6. Period
of Deputation
The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another
ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or other
organization/department of the Central Government shall not exceed five
years. The terms and conditions of
deputation will be regularized according the orders contained in the Government
of India, Department of Personnel & Training O.M. No. 2/29/91-Estt.(P.II),
dated 5th January, 1994 as amended from time to time.
7.

Undertakings/Semi Government/Statutory or Autonomous organizations should apply
